Opening Weekend At The RESI!!!!
leave work on friday get to my buddies house by midnight.
stay up till 1 wake up at 430 get to the spot by 530. my bait died! 2 dozen shiners and 1 pondies DEAD!!!! my buddy caught 2 small shiners in his trap!
get to the spot zero cars! i was surprised! beautiful morning! saw a few fish rising! i toss out a green/chrome 1/4 kastmaster going for salmon and browns! i cast out out then started talking to my buddy! not paying attention a laker whacked it!
Fight the fish get it on shore! go down to grab it! it spits the hook and swims away! quick release!
we leave hit a different spot! check out one of my favorites! 30 friggin cars lined up! we said screw it! met up with a couple buddies at a new spot!
awesome hole! no cars at the gate! nice point with a flat and a deep hole that goes far into the cove.
pounded that spot for a few hours! my buddie jeff picks off a small laker on the drop of!
my buddy hugo! wakes up from a nap! first cast BAM nice 4lbs laker!! hit sunset at my favorite spot for about an hour! hugo lands a nice laker on a live target bait ball jerk bait! i had a good follow on my last cast with a live target smelt
DAY2. wake up at 530 hit my favorited spot! only 10 cars!
first cast BAM nice laker. 2.13 lbser! hit a perch 3/4 kastmaster right at the drop off.
no more on metals for a while! we picked up big dead shiners left by other guys! floated them off bottom!
Hugo catches 2 4lbsers on bait! big dead shiners were the ticket! he also lands a nice fat pickerel on a jerkbait! very surprised in this spot!
he had a bunch of hits on bait! but his hooks were to small.
i had a drag peeler a nice 3.13lbser on a floated shiner! also landed another on bait!
i caught another on metals later in the day!
4 lakers and a quick release laker!
my buddy had 4 lakers and a pickerel!
not until may =(

I caught a Splake. The markings were different. I knew it. There will be more BIG Lakers caught this year. Can't wait to see the Smallies.
Sounds like u should have kept your dead shiners from night b4! Way to improvise finding dead shiners. Nice job. Had slow day at the ramp sun. Muskie bagged a 3lber. I had just 2 trips. Nothin on metals. One hit was pretty violent swiped shiner clean off hook.
