There has been some open tourneys at Webster lake every Sunday as well.I haven't heard about any ins. papers needed for that one? I'm not sure how much longer they will be fitting these in but have fun guys.

I wondered about needing papers myself. When i belonged to a club i needed ins. papers. But maff tourneys have never required them. I was curious what the difference was?

The cran bog hogs is an offshoot of another affiliated bass club. I believe a % of the proceeds benifit that club. They would be foolish not to demand insurance papers. It cost them nothing and 99.9% of the guys fishing these tournies have the insurance. No need for them to solicite outside these numbers. if someone gets hurt or does damage to someones property, the host club can be included in any lawsuit and so can BASS and FLW.

Do you recommend that for maff or are they safe because no money is being taken?
This might have been observed before but i personally have no idea and if maff was liable and weren't aware that would stink.

dave sent me an e-mail saying no papers needed.but he also stated no car toppers.i was just throwing this out to you guy's to see if you wanted to fish.you've got some good points there rich.property and boat damage can be pursued through the courts.i carry insurance just because of c.c.bass.but if something happens to someone in your boat you have coverage.it costs me $100 a year for 50,000 individual and $100.000 per.at least if someone gets injured on your boat or drowns you have ins.

Ken makes a good point, not having insurance is asking for trouble. if something happened or someone got hurt it could cost you big time. it can also be your friend if you happen to hit a submerged rock(anyone with a bass boat knows about this) I work at a marine repair shop and you would not believe the amount of people that come in with smashed lower units. if they have insurance it is usually covered. if not then it can cost anywhere between 1-3k to fix.
