Had the day off yesterday so I hit up the Plymouth area and one of my favorite bog ponds. It was slow to start. Not much top water action to speak of, one here and one there on a pop r. there was not a stitch of wind. As the sun came up over the trees i picked up the jig and went to work on the trees and bushes. Again it was one here and one there until the clouds thickened and the wind picked up. Someone turned on the switch. I caught 15 of the 20+ bass i caugth yesterday in a 1 hour window picthing jigs in trees and bushes and dragging a frog across the pads. Most fish were in the 2lb class but I got four over three and this one 4lber on the jig. the bigger bass were definitly in the wood and wanted the jig. best 5 were around 17-18 lbs. Lost a possible personal best at the end of the day by not paying attention |
