Anyone have any spots for Tautog north of Boston? Thanks

I've never heard of them north of Boston. I used to BS with a charter captain at a striper hole north of Boston really early in the morning waiting for his clients... While I striper fished there, I'd trap green crabs to taug fish New Bedford/Buzzards bay.

Half his business was groundfishing north of Boston, and they don't exist according to him.

I have to say I have never seen or heard of them being north of Boston either. However, if you are willing to make the drive, the Cape has some of the best tautog fishing you can find. Check out my blog for a story on what would have been the junior world record tautog... had we not eaten it!

The N.H record Tautog is 9 pounds, caught in 2012 in Hampton Harbor. They have been catching a few up there since 2009 or before.
