Worms near Andover?

Does anyone know of any places that sell worms near Andover?

I tried that, but it's been so dry here that I can't find any.

Are you digging or picking? Wait untill night time and go out on your lawn or any grassy area with a flash light.You'll see them kinda laying there,be carefull not to shine the light directly on them,you wont believe how fast a nightcrawler is.I use the outer ring of light and look for the "wet" shine.To see if the area will be a good one,check it out in the morning,you will see little "anthills" of balled up mud.Thats their tunnels from the night before.I can pick a hundred worms in under an hour in my yard.Another thing,dont pull them from their hole,they will break,just hold steady pressure on them while pulling gently and the worm will relax and let go.

If you really want to buy them,every walmart I've been in sells them but I would open the lid and check their health first.They sit in there a long time and die of starvation alot of times.Also I dont know about your area but here every cumberland farms and corner store sells worms.Usually a sign or sticker on the door.

Yep Wallmart has them for $3.
But I remember when I was young my dad would have me soak the ground down with water at dusk and go out in the dark with flashlight an a shovel get the night crawlers by the Doz. But you know I would get a lot more where the septic tank was at seems the grass was always greener there . We would wet the ground and all we would do is pull back on the sod and all the worms would be right at the top.

3$ a doz?............wow I'm in the wrong profession.Never had to wet the ground around here but have heard of guys doin it.My yard is mostly moss,not what alot of people would call a nice lawn,but boy is it full of huge crawlers.I go out when my daughter wants some or I plan on doing alittle trout fishing and fill a coffee can solid of pure crawlers,no dirt, in an hour.Now I'm thinking about a bait dealers license lol

when I was a youngster we'd get our worms from under my grandpa's rabbit cages...

but yeah, any WalMart has em back by the fishing stuff. Just open up the container and lightly touch a worm - they should immediately react and start to bury into the soil. If not, don't buy em, they're junk.
