sunset fishing in sharon

Did some after work fishing on my boat and had a great night. Fished for about two hours trying out my new 7'6 carbon lite rod. Put over ten fish in the boat and they were all keepers. Most were a pound or a little more but got a couple two plus and one big guy pushing 4.5!! Rod is supper sensitive and extremely light.

Quabbin Res 5/20/2012

Me and the Bassasin's hit the Q on Sunday for some smallie action. We had heard that they were hanging out in the 15-20 ft range but couldn't find them there. We checked a little deeper with no results and then moved in a little. We saw fish on beds so we caught them instead. The morning was nice and cool but by noon it was in the 80's. We caught a bunch of smallies. The only one not taken off a bed was the biggest. Dunt bagged a 3.14 on a KVD square billed crank in about 10 feet of water around some of the coolest rock structure I've ever seen. I'm hoping to get back up there next week.

Smallies, Jigs and a Big Toe

Hit up Merrymeeting Lake in NH going after smallies on their beds. It took a while to find a section of shoreline they were on but once we found them it was on! The best bite was on a black and blue jig with a rattler. These fish were VERY aggressive. My buddy lost his jig in about 4 feet of water right on a bed. He went in the water to get it and while trying to grab the jig with his toes, the smallie tried to swallow his big toe. Very funny. We also both hooked into smallies at the same time. Sight fishing bedding bass is by far my favorite fishing. Bows and salmon were in shallow and you couldn't throw a stone without hitting a sucker. Spent the last hour or so going after lakers and salmon but no takers.

Lake Nippenicket 5-19-12

First time here...Had a club tournament with brutal conditions with 0 clouds, high boat traffic, and high water pushing them back to unreachable territory. Tossed the frog way back in the woods where I couldn't see and started tea bagging. This 5 lb. 12. oz. beast crushed it and I hauled it out of the junk. This picture doesn't do the fish justice. The fish was enormous but not that fat. I'm holding it right next to me, not out for the camera. More coming soon.

Not a bad way to start a Saturday!

Went early Saturday morning for about two hours. A lot of top water action with a few small Larries. Switched it up to the senko. First cast near a submerged tree and BOOM, 5.75 lber. Lucky I got this this to shore cause it was barely hooked. Definitely on cloud 9 for the rest of the day

early morning

hit the res early at dawn, hoping to catch some more crappie but they must have moved to deeper water. I was here maybe three weeks earlier fishing around the small rock island on the northeast shore and they were hitting all over the place...but anyways caught 2 pickeral around 15 inches and a small yellow perch. Used a 2 inch shallow diving minnow in yellow perch pattern to catch the pickeral. Used a Mepps Agilia #1 Dressed (silver/white) to catch the small perch. Had a very large pickeral take off with my favorite lure too :( ...Seems like the veg is starting to overtake the shallow water along the northeast shore.

canton reservoir 5-19-12

Got up early to try the rez for an hour or 2 to see if my senko skills are up to par. Just started to try this as an addition to mostly topwater and swimbait fishing. Pulled up at 5am threw on a pumpkin with black flake and started working the shore line around the dam. 5 casts in bam.. 2 pounder..went down by the run off and cast a few times picked up another maybe a pound. Did this for about an hour totalling 5 fish mostly in the pound area in size. Packed up and went to my little honey hole 10 minutes away and killed them for 3 hours. Maybe 26 fish in total but only downside was most if not all were under or around 2 pound range. Made a video in which I caught fish in my first 3 casts but came out blurry so not really worth posting. All in all a good day to fish as most were still on there beds close to shore.
