Made it out Saturday pretty early. decided to walk out of the shallow bay where everyone fishes and set up in the next bay on the east side of the lake. I thought it was actually the next bay up the lake, but I got them mixed up on the map and realized the bay I wanted to go to was another 10-15 minute walk away (not ideal after walking 15 mins to get to the spot I was at). We decided to drill a few holes, then after an hour of no flags and 2 small perch jigging, we ended up walking up to the bay I originally wanted to fish. I reset all my tip ups and drilled new holes, only to have 1 flag in the next 2 or 3 hours, and I missed the fish! We decided to pack up that spot and go back to the bay where we came in on and fish there until we left. Probably should have stayed there the whole time, as we caught a few nice perch and I finally caught a few bass through ice on a Rapala jig. Haven't been having the greatest of luck on the hard water this year, but its still good to get out, and its good exercise when you walk half way around a big lake when there is 3" of sloppy snow on top of the ice, haha.
