Boston Harbor Flounder Fishing
Went out on my friend Steves boat today. We started out by pulling our 10 Lobster traps. Ended up with only 2 keepers and a monster egger throw back. We decided to flounder fish instead of striper because there was nobody catching anything all day around the harbor. We were rewarded early and offen. Steve even got a huge black Sea Bass. Just a great day all around. Check out the door mats!!
I'll be headed out there tomorrow (May 27,2013). I hope you left some flounder for me. During the 50's & 60's (my childhood) we had fun catching them out in the bay with a skiff and droplines.
We just tipped a flounder rig with a piece of sea worm or a small strip of clam, and just bounced it off the bottom. I used freshwater gear and they put up a nice fight.
Very cool. How do you fish for Flounder? Do they put up a good fight?
