Baits and Tackle used near Mendon

Check Prices

  • DAT Food in Tuttie-frutty and Obsession

    Pescaviva shrimp and scopex

    coffee/pepper dough
  • Molasses Maize,
    Dat Food,
    Chick Peas,
    a fish/scopex/chillie ground bait
  • First fish was on pineapple flavored feed corn on a hair rig. After that though nopthing was touching it.

Changed to the cream corn and grits pack bait and caught 4 other fish within 3 hours
  • Dat food (strawberry, Gold, scopex)
    Pescaviva trout pellet and scopex
    WCB Scopex Pop-ups
    chick peas
  • For bait I kept it simple today. I was travelling by canoe and wanted a light bait bucket. Chick peas, and a batch of strawberry chicks plus DAT food boilies. I used a small amount of ground bait made of breadcrumbs and rolled oats plus some crushed boilies and river water to help hold the carp in the area.

  • This fish was caught on a Maize and Maple combo
  • Molasses maize,
    Dat Food
    Chick peas,
    Fishy Ground Bait
  • Maize and molasses really the only action we got here
  • Dat food, Chick peas and feed corn as well as a good bread/crushed boilie/anise-pepper ground mix

  • We had plenty of bait on hand. Blackstone Carp brought its very own DAT food boilies for the public to use, we also had a bucket of prepared feed corn, a bucket of Maple peas, a bucket of Chick Peas, a container of Luncheon Meat and a few loaves of bread.

Fish were caught on Feed corn, DAT food Strawberry, and Chick Peas.

Other Check Prices

  • Again corn, white bread work well..I make much of my own dough bait or order some mixes through Wacker Baits
  • Sweet corn
  • Again Feed corn is a big success here. Also shrimp/fishy flavored boilies have produced well.

  • Dat Food Obsession
    Dat Food Tuttie
    Dat Food Omega
    Chick peas
    Pescaviva sweet corn
  • Same as the other locations. Maple peas worked well for me here, corn, bread, boilies of various flavors.
  • Maple peas were on the menu today. I chummed maize/peas/boilies/strawberry corn

  • Dat food, feed corn were used. Dat food produced some but the real hitter of the day was a grits based pack bait ( see the bait tutorial in the forums or on www.blackstonecarp.com)
  • Feed corn and Dat food boilies have become my baits of choice as well as staples in any trip.

Molasses and fishy flavors seem to still work well, though strawberry has been more and more effective.

  • Feed corn is a staple for our trips lately, though it was clearly out performed number wise by a cat food/grits/cream corn mix method-pack bait.

The biggest fish of the session however was taken along the far left margins, with 2 pieces of feed corn on a sliding hair rig, with a size 6 hook.
  • Many things keep coming along for the ride. Sweet corn flavored various ways,
    Feed corn heavy on molasses,
Dat food milk based with heavy seed/forage
