What about carolina? I like to bring two rods: 1 texas and 1 wacky and mix it up until one proves better.

Had a lot of luck at spot with the carolina rig

With all the dropoffs at Spot, has anybody thrown a drop-shot rig into the deeper areas? Has it worked?

Yes I did...and lost it to the head-sized irregularly shaped rocks. Snagged my weight.

The Trophy (green) at Dicks with 2 rod holders is a nice LOOKING unit but the seat sucks real bad.

You are better off with a Swifty - you can sit in that thing ALL DAY - snag a rod holder off Amazo ...
