Charles Rvier. Newton Ma. Fishing Report

4.5 Rating based on 2 Reviews

So There Are Fish At The Cove.

I went down to the Charles River today to see if the warmer temps have caused some kind of prespawn bite. I also had some worms from a week ago that I was trying to get rid of. Finally managed to connect with something.

Decent Bass Catch

  • # of Fish Caught: 1
  • Water Type: freshwater
  • Type of Fish: Largemouth Bass
  • Fish Length (Avg): 15 inches
  • Fish Length (Max): 15 inches
  • Bait Type: In-Line Spinner Check Prices
  • Bait Details: After not getting much action out of the worms, I decided to toss one of my old mepps black fly spinners out. On the second cast I caught the largest bass I've ever seen down here.
  • Location Details: One of the open areas along the shoreline. There are no weeds in these areas during the spring, so it's a good time to try working through the shallows when the water gets warmer.

I wish it wasn't the charles. Catch

  • # of Fish Caught: 1
  • Water Type: freshwater
  • Type of Fish: Yellow Perch
  • Fish Length (Avg): 11 inches
  • Fish Length (Max): 11 inches
  • Bait Details: Just a plain old worm on a bobber. I had bought some for an outing in NH that never materialized. So I came down to the river to use them up.
  • Location Details: Not to far from the shore.
