Comment: I grew up on Silver Lake in the 1950's and 60's. Fishing was never allowed because it is a reservoir for Brockton. They used to have floating signs back then, but not since. Signs were never posted every 30 feet, and I don't believe that is a requirement today. You are not allowed to fish in this reservoir!

Comment: it is 100 percent legal to fish here and you can't get in trouble for it because the only way it is illegal to fish somewhere is if there is a sign posted every 30 yards telling you that "fishing in this pond is illegal" and it has to be signed by the ma department of fishing, and there aren't signs every thirty yards

Comment: Is it actually illegal to fish here? I keep hearing conflicting reports. I've heard some say its illegal, I've heard some say its legal. Even the Wikipedia link has a description of where to go for shore fisherman.
