Comment: Nice fish. I can see why there is confusion. The colors are muted so some tell tales aren't clear. It does more resemble a brown due to the spot pattern. Were there a lot of spots on the tail or just a few? Lots = rainbow.

Comment: Thought the same thing it was a brown but the fish and game guy came over explained to me how to tell the difference. Im still learning just got into fishing last year so any advice toss it out there.

Comment: Not a brown, spots are wrong, belly color isn't right for a brown..whole color of the fish to be fair. Browns are far greener/gold, with slightly different style spots.

Smaller spots with the hints of pink/bright blue, it is a rainbow..colors and pink band prolly just faded due to being dead and or on the ground..also many stockies are not as bright. Plus the over all picture is blue lol...

Comment: are you sure thats a rainbow? it looks an awful lot like a brown to me.
