Comment: i grew up on the mystic river i also have a dock on the river... sometimes i even moor my boat on it ... Anyways it is safe to say i know all about the herring run... When i was a kid the whole shoreline from the Dam to the locks would be filled with herring.... When you go to the damm it may look like a lot of fish .. but let me say this ... it is so depleted its not even funny. Its sad that we cannot use herring as bait but it is definatly a neccesity to have it shut down.. Hopefully 1 day i can catch 4 at a time on sabiki rig then live line it again. Until that day comes again(hopefully it will) It will be tube and worm or live linning Macks.... Yes you should call the cops!!!!

Comment: What a story. Glad they got the herring guys. I still wonder when I see police when I am fishing, because my friends and I were usually getting in trouble while fishing as teenagers. Nice post.
