I felt the need to burn some calories today after a wedding reception on Saturday. Sean and I walked about 10 miles of shoreline on the 110 side and another 5 or so on the 70 side. I had two good bites and made them count. First fish came on a slender pointer and the second fish a few hours later blasted a zara spook one knocker. Both fish weighed 4.5 pounds according to my 30 pound boga grip. I need one of those fancy digital scales. We could have caught 8-14 dink smallmouth and largemouth on senkos all day long of we wanted. The small fish were everywhere.

this time of the year, a 20 inch+ smallmouth don't even go more than 4LB. 3.75LB is about right. My digital scale has been checked with weight cylinders. It is 0.1 ounce error margin. You can buy digital scale on ebay for 3 dollars. They are very accurate.

That cheap?! The only reason I didn't have a a digital one yet was I just couldn't' spend $30+ on a $2 electronic, but my grip spring scale is starting to annoy me.

this is the one i use. I checked with weight cylinder and it is pretty accurate. the only complain is the hook is small. I weighted my fish very close to the ground just in case it flaps off.
