neverhad a problem wiht soft plastics wiht briad pulled plenty of 4-5lb bass out in 12-16ft water clarity. 20lb is the best all around.. i use 50lb for frog fishing or heavy cover cause its like rope u can sanp rods wiht like i did this weeknd
