Couple Hours On The Pond
Started out on Boone around 5:45 after I got out of work. I had froggin on my mind but stopped at a dock to pitch a senko on my way and was rewarded with a bass just under 3 pounds...nice way to start the day.
I got to a cove about 15 minutes later and started tossing a top water frog. I picked off a couple bass around a pound and a half off a few stumps. I continued further into the pads and landed two more bass of similar size. There were bass jumping just about everywhere and around 7pm I missed a big bass that smashed it in open water....after the 3rd jump she was off! It started getting dark and I decided to put the trolling motor on a slow gear and pepper the shore line with the frog on my way back. I got a nice bass just under 4 pounds after a frog skipped under an overhanging branch and a 2 pounder followed on the same technique about a hundred yards later. I took a few photos at the launch as I was close by and that capped a productive 2 hour outing on good old Boone!
