JULY 9TH- Boone Baby Boone
So I finally had some spare time to dedicate to fishing. I was going to head to Lake Maspenock but with Boone close by it's tough to venture off so I decided to spend a few hours mid-day on my home Lake. The first hour out and I hadn't landed a fish...only 2 strikes that missed my frog and reluctantly I changed from the frog to a texas rigged baby bass senko on 6lb mono. A few minutes after the change I landed a cast a few feet past Aunt Lily and shortly after the slack in my line tightened. A solid swipe and a good one was on...finally! She jumped for me twice and half way in took the line into some thick pads. I had to pull the anchor up with one hand and hold onto the fish with the other. Due to the light line I waited it out and after about 15 seconds the fish came screaming to the boat. She shot down one more time and I was happy when the fish was safely netted. A nice 4 pounder in the boat had me feeling good. I stayed with the senko for another hour and caught three more in the pound to pound and a half range. The last 30 minutes I spent peppering the shoreline with a Kopper Frog and was rewarded with 2 small keepers. I'm still in search for my first Giant of the year but I was glad to get a nice one in the boat.
The beast is coming! Nice report as usual.
You find my hook and green worm in that hog??? NICE FISH
