The bottom is composed of sand and gravel. The ponds 2.1 miles of shoreline is moderately developed with houses and two summer youth camps. Lawrence Pond is located about 2 miles south of the junction of Route 6 and Chase Road. Access is provided by a right-of-way off of Great Hill Road at the southeastern corner of the pond. Canoes and cartop boats can be launched here. The solid bottom is also excellent for wading. With no formal parking lot available, anglers must park along the shoulder of the road.
