oldfisher, thanks for the information. It's good to know I'm not the only one who's noticed this.

It seem like such a gap would invite debris to get in there.

My wife picked up a Cabela's Pro Guide Spinning Reel for me last Friday.

The price was right, and I figured it had to be a decent reel because it's made by Daiwa.

When I pulled it out of the box ...

So, I'm watching In-Fisherman and they're fishing 1oz jigging lures.

How does one do that? All the ice rods I've been looking at max out at 1/4 oz.

Just curios.

Cheers,
Patrick

I bought a Lew's Tournament MG from Tackle Warehouse on Black Friday.

The great thing is after TW's 20% off and Lew's mail in rebate, I'll get $55 dollars off the reel.

The bad thing is I have t ...

The 3600 tackle boxes I store my baits in get quite moist from the water on the baits from fishing. I've gotten rust on the hardware of a couple of them.

I've started setting them flat in the back ...

When I first got it I had to take off the side plate a lot to make adjustments for wind and every time I changed lures. Now that I'm used to the reel I have all of the brakes off and just use my thumb ...

Like I said earlier in the thread I say Lews. I paid 168 on eBay for my bb1 pro in December. Might have come down. But I've heard good things about the other models. You have to pay attention though. ...

I don't want to add confusion to your your reel decision but I want to at least mention this as a possibility. I myself just picked up a lews BB1 pro 7.1. So far I love it. However I've only owned it ...

I've put my Shimano Citica 200G6 up on eBay.

Now I just need to decide which Lew's to get, Speed Spool, Tournament MG, or BB ...

Yeah, I determined that the reel sucks. It's loud, not smooth, and difficult to adjust.

I'm going to see if I can return it, and save my pennies to buy a Lew's or maybe a Pflueger Supreme XT (I ha ...

I had one of those paid 65. The drag kept slipping. I gave it away

Now you tell me.

Shawn, what's your recommendation for a 99-150 reel?

Thanks,
Patrick
