Happens a lot in that situation. They often strike and head to deeper water. A steroid induced hookset will help them go on a wild run too.

Ballbusting is always fun. I consider the middle pond deep but they other two I consider normal kettle pot ponds. Compared to the Nip a pool is deep.

I'd be more worried about the few guys who intentionally sabotage these events. They go the day before in multiple boats literally with just the intention of making the fishing bad the next day. Poor ...
