I own and use the 7'6" MH Okuma Guide Series Big Bait rod. It's rated 1/2 to 5 Oz, which is probably a reach on the high end. I do fish the 7" slammers and 6" Hudds, and the rod does we ...

From a fun perspective, I enjoy fishing topwater baits the most (including hollow body frogs). The strikes are just too much fun to pass up.

I do enjoy fishing jigs, although the lead ban has put a ...

I think one of my favorite fishing moments in recent history came in this tournament.

Following our "hook it first, land it second" philosophy, our biggest fish came in the pads as well ...

With about 5 minutes to go we puuled up on the pileings by the ramp that we along with everyone else had pounded into a froth throughout the day. My buddy joe was fishing a 1 oz jig when he felt " ...

In terms of safety, what areas do I need to watch out for dams or other fun hazards on the stretches above Waltham?

Have you tried the two coves/section in the south/southeast section of the lake? I assume you have, but those seem like they should have less pleasure boaters than the main lake. Could be wrong though ...

For secret lead-free pickerel tech, I can thoroughly recommend a Texas rigged Brush Hog. I have a long and glorious record of catching pickerel and pike on those.

It's always a treat when the day ends with whitecaps =)

Sam and I never quite figured it out. We kept looking for fish deep (if there is such a thing at Norton =) and in healthy looking weed beds, ...

I won't argue its all about feel - once you figure it out, you can cast any weight lure with any line, no issue. But, when you get a backlash with braid, it doesn't mess up an entire reels worth ...

I'll second the BPS fluoro as being good. If you can find it on sale, pick some up. I've heard stories of people casting lures off the "vanish" line. I guess it's not just the line itself th ...
