JANUARY 19 DAVE GENZ ICE FISHING SEMINAR TO BE STREAMED LIVE ON THE WEB

CONCORD, N.H. -- If you can't make it to the free ice fishing seminar by Dave Genz on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., don't despair! In response to popular demand, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department aims to carry the talk via live streaming video at http://www.fishnh.com/broadcast/stream. Please note that the video will not work for those with a dial-up Internet connection.

The free talk by Dave Genz, known as the "Father of Modern Ice Fishing," will take place at the State Police Standards and Training Building, 17 Institute Drive, Concord, N.H. No pre-registration is required.

Those viewing the talk via the live-streaming link should be sure that their speakers are turned on and volume turned way up. Be aware that some commercials will appear during the presentation, because the streaming service is being offered to Fish and Game without a fee; Fish and Game is not responsible for the content of these ads and does not endorse these products. This is N.H. Fish and Game's first attempt to provide the content of hunting and fishing talks using the live-streaming technology, so please be patient if technical difficulties arise. If you can't see the video or it keeps cutting out, visit the Ustream Help Center at http://helpcenter.ustream.tv

A native of Minnesota, Dave Genz is legendary in the world of ice angling. He is credited with many innovations in ice fishing, including the portable ice fishing shelter, and has taught techniques to thousands of anglers. At the seminar, Genz will explain his “Modern Ice Fishing System” – strategies he developed to increase angler success on any species fished for through the ice. He will talk about many helpful tools and tactics, including the vital role electronics plays in modern ice fishing.
