Hi guys,

I am going to fish at Savoy Mountain, MA in a few days. How would you suggest to fish for browns in a small stocked pond at this time of the year? I am not sure if this is classified as summer, which then I'd expect the browns to stay in cooler, deeper waters. But it hasn't been that hot here in Mass.

Should I drop to a 4lb test (leader) as well? Lures: Mepps, Rooster Tails? Or should I have fun with some shiners?

Are Brookies fished the same way?

I will be bringing a canoe.

Thanks for your help.

Shiners might be a good bet, and you should look into some Kastmasters or Krocodiles. They're supposed to work well on lakes - just try to match the colors with what they're eating, but silver or gold seem to work pretty well.

Check out the Tech Reports and PDF's under the Kwik Links on the left and it will give you an idea of how to work them.
