The trim stopped working, and the motor's on intermittenly

All of a sudden the motor wont go down from the top position, and I can hear the lift motor turning on and off? I removed the power cables so it would stop, and when I touch the positive back to the battery terminal, I get a big spark (like its shortinh out?)? I am very mechanical, but electrical is tricky. Any direction you can point me in would be great.

My advice would be to look at the relays for the trim, and also inspect all controls for the trim. Something won’t let it complete the circuit, relay or trim controls. Try all your trim controls to see if you get a response. No response its probably a relay, short dough and not a bad fix.

Thx for the advice. I found a bad switch that was sticking in the up position.
