So I spent the holiday weekend up in Maine in the Millinocket region. I fished in the Desconeag Deadwater area and the mouth of the Penobscot as it dumps into the Ambajejus (Pemadumcook Chain). I had no luck catching anything but Creek Chubs! I tried to go deeper with some spinners like a panther martin but to no avail. I tried using a sinker about 1 foot from the hook with some power bait on the hook, no luck. What could I be doing wrong? I though I was fishing in deep enough waters (30+ft) but I did not even get a nibble. In the evening there was much action from the creek chubs but thats not what I was fishing for. Any people share a similar experience when trout fishing?
