I only catch and release for fun and I'm nee to saltwater I'm used to freshwater but where can i go to catch a good striper or any fish, when do i have to go and what should i use, thanks
Also I'm not a fan of the canal i loose to many lures and hooks to it

You might get more responses from a site that is focused on stripers. I recommend http://www.stripersonlinel.com . It's a huge community with carve-outs for specific north/mid-atlantic states as well as different fishing techniques. I go there to learn about fly fishing for stripers, though I haven't yet done that. Will probably wait until Sept. and then book a guide for the day.

plymouth is lines with boulders and jetties. some guy caught a 20lbs striper off plymouth harbor jetties last week.
