My friend wants to head to the canal bright and early tomorrow in the rain to try for one last outing for stripers, anyone know of any recent reports if they are still there? I'd rather not get some kind of head aids if there aren't any fish. Thanks

Mike's right. I had one report on SOL from yesterday of over 90 fish caught by one fly rodder on the cape (north side).

90?!? I'd love to learn how to work a fly if you have time during the off season!

He said he had to catch 68 fish to reach 1000 for the season but never imaged that he would hit that number plus some in a single day. Being retired, he does go out for 10 hours at a time, but you're right, that is a boatload of fish. I also believe him because he posts regularly, takes beautiful photos of many of his fish, and tracks each and every one year after year.

It's not normal to go for 10 hours at a time?! Shocked Laughing
