I wasn't able to get a pic. the wind tossed this thing around and before i could successful land it in the net it had fallen off the hook. was caught a decent sized rapala jointed shad that rattles. i had several unsuccessful bites and one hook that was lost before i caught this bugger. pretty sure was the same fish. no doubt in my mind it was a trout due to the head and mouth... however, it didn't have any speckles or spots and for sure wasn't a rainbow. it was dark gray/black throughout with a whitish bottom side. it didn't look like a broodstock slamon either. my best guess would be a lake trout but it didn't have spots/speckles.. it's eyes were white with a dark pupil. it looked like this but darker and was about a foot long, much more meat on it than a pick that size. https://www.google.com/search?q=bull+trout&biw=1366&bih=631&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=Dr8gVJPAHI_8oQSPvIH4Cg&sqi=2&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ#tbm=isch&q=dark+grey+trout&facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=Pe0prmssQEs-JM%253A%3BR425smnrg0UVkM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.greyreefanglers.com%252Fimages%252FGrey_Reef_Fly_Fishing_Kids.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.greyreefanglers.com%252Ffishing-report%252Fwyoming-fly-fishing-report-for-north-platte-river-grey-reef-miracle-mile-wind-river-canyon-big-horn-river-and-upper-green-river-2010%3B384%3B238

gave a good fight thought it was going to be around a 2 pounder pickerel.

They don't have lake trout in there.

i know it wasn't any kind of bass, wasn't anything in the pike/pickerel family, wasn't perch.. had a trout-mouth and was dark grey.... no spots/speckles

Juvenile muskie or juvenile tiger muskie.

I think he was suggesting you might have caught one or the other.

my fish looked nothing like that and was WAY BIGGER. anyways i took it as if he was wondering what he had.

tiger trout most likely. They hold over there and come up at the end of September and hit like crazy If you hit the right spots, there were big trout hitting over the last few days at cochituate
