Neko Rig

I have just started fishing the Neko rig on a local pond with some success . I have hooked and lost 5 nice fish , one I saw was over 5lbs. But I keep dropping fish with this rig. Using a 2/0 weedguard finesse octopus style hook and using either a 7 inch Berkley power worm or a dinger. any suggestions . I might have hook too far in the back of the bait.

Make sure your hook is sharp. Like really sharp. And a weedgaurd can have a small effect on hooking ability. I'd ditch the weedgaurd unless your fishing a really sloppy pond.
