Winter fishing can be fun, but going out on big ponds an lakes can be intimidating especially without electronics! so i usually just keep it too small local ponds. Last winter i had a blast fishing small ponds. Although some of the ponds were less than 4 acres and had little to no fishing pressure. I would go out and at least come back with 3-8 LMB on average. Only problem is the smaller ponds freeze a lot faster.
