PoPo Night PIG!!!! Fishing Report

5 Rating based on 9 Reviews

Last night I got the green light to do a couple hours of night fishing on Boone. I was stoked, the weather was mint, almost no wind to contend with. I ended up on the water at 8pm and went to a series of docks about a mile from my house. It was slow the first hour as I only boated 2 bass, with the biggest being just over a pound. I shifted around during the next half hour and got a couple small striked but no hook ups. A party boat was basically stalking me until I shared some unpleasant words and my demand for them to back the "" up! Finally I had some seperation between us when I decided to stop at a point right off the Stow Police's property. It was probably my 3rd cast in with a big double jointed jitterbug when the lunker struck. Before the strike I heard a jump about a hundred feet from the boat and a second later is when I got mine. It only took me a few seconds to realize that it was a special fish. It took a few feet of drag at a time with ease. As most big night bass, this guy leaped a few times before it was close to the boat. It made it difficult for me to the net and all I remember during the struggle was gut on this Pig. Finally it was in the boat. I keep it hostage in the cooler until we got to the launch around 10:30pm. We did a quick photo shoot and weigh in. A beautiful 6 pound 2 ounce PIG made a great night on the water. Thank you Larry....see you again soon bud!
