Fluke Fishing the Point of Pines river Revere MA.

For the past few years or so, I have heard from numerous sources about the fantastic fluke fishery happening in Revere Ma in the Point of Pines River. I have lived in this city my whole life..(41)years)  Up until 2 weeks ago I have never fish for fluke let alone seen one..except in photos ..so after reading about how guys have been using chubs(Mummichogs) and strips of squid to catch these flounder with (bluefish) teeth. What do I do? I grab my trusty old minnow trap..throw it in my favorite minnow catching spot. Go back a few hours later and voila!!  3 dozen of the fattest  creek chubs  you ever want to see!!plus about 40 -2inch green crabs(Tautog bait)I then pick up my buddy Tony(Revere Animal Control)Who's just getting off his shift. we go to the boat load up the gear ,bait, drinks and sandwhiches. I drive 100yards from the dock and proceed to drift the Pines River for all it's worth...Bam!! Tony's rod starts to go nuts...I'm like "no way" this is too easy and too close to home.."literally  2 minutes from my dock we hookup  ...Yup..it's a fluke alright 22inches and about 2 1/2 lbs.  I look at Tony and he's permanantly  hooked on this kind of fishing now...  Now my rod goes off  but I lose whatever it is,,(is their such thing as fluke fever?..if there is I had it after seeing tony's fish still flopping around on deck.well he hooks up a total of 3 times on 3 cosecutive drifts.. we get 3 nice fish all legal plus a bonus 30" Striper that ate the biggest chub we put out (4inches) Great day.. a 2 hour trip ..2minutes of driving and an hour and50 minutes fishing .2 bucks in gas!! Whoo Hoo!! never lost sight of my dock...i'm going again tomorrow...pics to follow..Later SammyCool
