Fishing! Monday, March 19th

Caught some good fish with my buddy Tom. Definitely check him out and send him a friend request. (tom_cove). Caught one big pickerel and one smaller one, in addition to a fairly small calico bass and about 5 average sunfish. We went out on Freeman lake around 2:30  in the afternoon, canoed to our favorite spot in a small marshy cove in a corner of the lake and started casting toward the shore while slowly drifting down the bank. Once we drifted the end of the cove we paddled back and Let the current take us again. Casts placed in the shade of trees and bushes, under and around the numerous docks and on the edges of the marshy areas produced plenty of small but tenacious fish. everything but the sunfish were caught on a small, bronze-body Aglia spinner with a silver flash(my favorite lure). The sunfish were caught with dillies on a bobber later in the day, about at dusk. Tom caught a couple pickerel as well, and a half-pound smallmouth bass(mini) in addition to several sunfish. I believe he was using a larger silver-bodied, bronze flash Aglia. We released all the fish, as usual, and packed it in at about 7pm. I highly recommend Freeman Lake to anybody. It has a large fish population due to a ban on gas powered boats and limited ramp access. The most common fish here are Smallmouth Bass, Pickerel, and sunfish.
