I tried to fish Maquan Pond Sunday morning after having a good day there Saturday.I got to the Gate at 8:15 and it was closed,anyone have any thoughts???The sign says it closes at 9p.m. during summer months but says nothing about opening time.So i drove down the street too Furnace Pond,caught a couple Dink Bass and some Monster Crappie but the wind was too much for me and i left after a couple hours.The goodnews is the Town cleared a lot of the brush along Matakeeset Street so you can park a few more cars in front of the pond the bad news is the Algae Bloom is in full growth on Furnace Pond you can see it all over the newly growing lilly pads.
