!st Day Fishing!

Fished  Jamacia Pond on way home today. Caught 2 Rainbow Trout. Was surprized how small they where. Was expecting  holdovers to be minimum of 15".

One was maybe 13" the 2nd was only 11" at best. They were stocked last fall.  they must have been only about  9 to 11" when stocked.

SO GREAT TO BE FISHING!!!

Charles River Dedham Bridges.

Fished for a couple of hours today focused on bridges,  I caught 4 bass. Largest was 1.90 lbs.. I was not prepaired for the misquitoes they were vicious, luckily I had cigars and I kept one lit the entire time, this kept them away from my face. The 1.90 lb bass hit a Wacky Rigged Senko and gave me trouble because of the strong current under the bridge. The bass headed straight for a down tree in the closest to shore tunnel. I opened the bail and the bass swam away from me and headed for the current in open water. That bass pulled like it was twice it's size. Love river largemouth bass they fight like smallmouth...

Stony Brook Reservation

Fished this pond for 1st time yesterday.  I walked the pond to find access points and there is only two on the entire pond (wooden docks on each side). The rest is heavy cover with deep mud. I was lucky because the street side dock had a group of 4 people leaving as I arrived. The back side had at least 15 kids diving and swimming off of that dock.

I caught 4 keeper bass in about 2 hours. The largest was 16" long. I tried spinner bait, top water popper, lipless crankbait, and finally they hit a 5" Senko wacky rigged. The fish are the darkest bass I ever saw. (the Senko would disapper once dropped below 2' of water and I was using a bass color white on top green on bottom).

Lots of lilly pads aroung entire pond. I would love to get a kayak in there and do some frogging. Not sure if it is legal I saw No Swimming signs posted. None stating no boating.
