10/6/12 Charles River
Decided to stalk The Charles Saturday AM, and found a nice deserted train bridge in Newton/Needham that had some good cover in the form of downed tree branches. Thought wacky rigged Senkos would be good from that height and started with a chartreuse/white 5". A few casts in and landed a pike or pickerel, I couldnt tell which. As I was taking this pic my line snapped before I got to weigh him. Was pissed, was a big guy. I then switched to blood red 5" Senkos also wacky style and on the first cast netted this 2.5 lbs LMB. Note: I did not paint "butt" and "piss" on the bridge. I then got greedy and decided to go to other spots along the river down the Dedham/Needham way and only netted two tiny bass not big enough to even trip the 1 lb minimum on my scale. The lesson: don't stop doing what your doing if its doing...

9/19/12 Spot Pond Threw a Dardevle out there to see if SMBs were biting, hooked a tiny SMB with it and changed the gear to fish for larger bass. Started with a white buzz bait around a rock formation but no luck. Switched to a Heddon baby torpedo, also no luck. Threw some white and chartreuse spinners. No luck with spinners so went to a buzz with a 4"senko trail. First cast hooked a 2 lb SMB. Unfortunately the day was cut short as an aggressive park ranger decided to give me a $25 parking after dark ticket. Looks like Spot Pond after work season is over. Damn you, Earlier Sunsets.

9/18/12 Spot Pond Went to Spot after work to fish for SMBs, mainly because I was curious how fish would bite on the bottom in hurricane-like conditions. Wasnt having any luck with senkos and craw rigged jigs, so I switched to a white spinner with a white speckled senko 4" trailer and trolled the bottom. Caugt a ~4lb SMB, and as I was trying to release, my line snapped taking the rig with it. I miss that lucky spinner. This was my biggest fish this season, a nice unexpected catch on a horrible weather night.

9/16/12 Bracket, Fields & Mill Pond 9/16/12: Zero fish caught @ Bracket Pond & Fields Pond (and Collins) in Andover in a solid 6 hours, which was awesome because I hyped it up to my brother after catching 3 larger LMBs there the weekend before. Never hype a pond, ever, lesson learned. Fished around circumference of both using mainly senkos and spinners. Lost 3 hooked LMBs on reel in, which was lovely. Went to Mill Pond Res in Burlington out of shutouted frustration afterwards for some PM fishing. Caught one smaller SMB on a water/orange 5" senko.
