Salt Water Fishing

I have only been fishing for about 3yrs and let me tell you... I got hooked since the very first time I started.  I started as a newbie who had to borrow his first fishing pole to now owning over 10 freshwater poles, spinners, jigs, crank baits and poppers.  You name it.  So, in the 3yrs I have been fishing, I have learned a lot the memebers here at MA-Fish-Finder.  I have yet to enter or be a part of a tournament but I plan on doing so sometime this summer.

Today, I do not own a very good saltwater rod/reel and the heaviest line I fished with is a 20lbs test.  My fresh water knowledge is decent, I can fish your Big Mouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, Yellow Perch, Crappie and who could forget your commonly caught Sun Fish...LOL Laughing  By the way I still love to catch them, they are fun but I usually released them back into the water.

However, Salt water fishing is different so I hear.  Sure!... I have gone on a Charter Boat and caught many 2lb Porgy, Flounder and a few 6lb Sea Bass, but I have never caught the 50lb Stiped Bass that I sometimes seen posted on indiviuals pages or youtube video.  So, it is on....

Well, I still have some learning to do I am still gaining knowledge from different anglers on how to rig and fish for different species.

I am now looking to increase my knowledge and catch some Striped Bass. I have never caught one before and that is my goal for this summer.  "I will be sure to take a picture and post it when I do".

In the mean time I got my salt water license, I am going to hit the Bass Pro shop and get me a decent Salt Water rod/reel and some heavier line and why I am at it some lures, net and other items needed in my adventure.

Until then Keep Fishing!!!

A whole lot of fishing

Went out on 9/12/09 to a pond Plymouth MA.  It was about 6:30am. Perfect weather, calm water.  I was fishing with night crawlers, soon as my line hit the water it was on. LOL Cool  1st 2 hrs I was able to catch 20+ Bluegill, 4 yellow perch.  I went to this pond before and caught 4 big mouth bass back to back but today I had no luck just a bunch of medium size Bluegill.  Most were really small so I through them back.

After about 3hrs of fishing for that Big Mouth Bass, I thought to myself, I am getting a bit frustrated and decided to try one more time.  I hit a whole on the opposite side of the lake were  Bass often are found in a shallow stream. I was finally able to actually catch  a 1lb Bass, the fella was again to small and had to release him back into the murking water to grow a bit more.

That was my Sunday in Plymouth
