Comment: According to http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/bnatres/fishwild/boatlnch.htm#fresh there is no public boat ramp on the R.I. side. I also spent a lot of time hunting for one.

Comment: Fishing for largemouth bass should be fair, but don't expect to find many large bass since the low productivity of the lake results in slow growth for most species. The southern or Rhode Island portion contains more shallow weedy coves, and this is probably the most promising area to fish for largemouth bass. Trout and salmon fishing is very popular from ice-out through early summer; this period receives the heaviest pressure. Ice fishing for trout and salmon is also popular. People licensed to fish in either Massachusetts or Rhode Island may fish Wallum Lake, but note that Rhode Island regulations apply throughout.
