Fishing in the canal is very dependent on time, tide and current. If you go at the wrong time, it's like throwing darts blindfolded - you might catch something, but the odds are really against you. Best time is just before dawn. |

I am a newbie striper fisherman and fished the canal yesterday (7/4/2011). Didn't even get a nibble. I chalk that up to not knowing enough yet about how to catch them but I did speak to a few of the regulars and they were having no luck either. Great place to fish though, overall. |

Theres a ton of fish in the canal. there has never been a day that I have been there and not seen anyone fishing. |
