About Me:
I am only 19 years old and have recently become addicted to fishing. I fished as a kid, but during the summer of 2008 I began fishing again. Now I try to fish 3-4 times a week during the summer.
Favorite Fish to Catch:
Largemouth, smallmouth, crappie and perch
Favorite Type of Fishing:
Spinning rod and baitcasting rod
Water Type:
Freshwater
Favorite Lures:
Heddon Torpedo, Strike King Rocketshad and Wally Marshall Crappie Crank
Fishing Rods:
I have an Ugly Stick and two Quantum Rods.
Fishing Reels:
An old Abu Garcia reel, Quantum Select Spinning reel and Quantum baitcasting reel.
Fishing Techniques:
Love to use surface torpedoes, poppers, jitterbugs and frogs. Nothing better than a surface strike.
I also am a big fan of all kinds of crankbaits. I catch my biggest bass on Wally Marshall and Strike King crankbaits
I went out to Eddy Pond in Auburn by myself for a little fishing after dinner around seven and caught a few small largemouth around 7-12 inches. My parent actually showed up after a while because I told them I would only be out an hour but you understand when the fish are biting its hard to leave. I was using a shallow crappie crank bait and was having some success realing it in then stopping and letting it float to the surface and sit for a few seconds. Then I would crank it again and got a lot of action on the second crank. I was almost ready to leave and then all of a sudden I felt this strong pull on my line. It took the bait and swam farther away from the shore. My heart was pumping. I was using light line and the worse rod and real combo money can buy so I was just praying to get it to shore. When I finally got it to shore it was a satisfying 3lbs 4oz on the scale. Not a giant but it is actually the biggest bass I have ever caught. My time will come for some bigger fish. My grandfather actually pulled a 5 pounder out of the same small pond. I uploaded some photos of the fish but the quality is bad because it was a camera phone in the dark.

Give a man a fish and he has food for a day, teach a man to fish and he has to buy bamboo rods, graphite reels, monofilament lines, neoprene waders, creels, tackle boxes, lures, flies, spinners, worm rigs, slip sinkers, offset hooks, gore-tex hats, 20 pocket vests, fish finders, depth sounders, radar, boats, trailers, global positioning systems, coolers, and six packs. - Anonymous

Even a fish could stay out of trouble if it would just learn to keep its mouth shut. -Unknown

There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot. -Steven Wright
