This looks like a pretty big lake. What's it like?

Looks like this day is free on the family calendar. Sign me up.

Boon has 2 coves with some cover and a main lake with some docks (and probably some speed boats on the weekend!). It's long...I've never covered the whole thing.

Largemouth only?

If there are smallies in there they have never shown themselves to me.

Largemouth only in there. There is a basin with 5 coves and then two larger basins. Total lake is 186 acres but appears bigger because of it's horseshoe shape. Good luck all!

You're bound to see some speed boating on the main lake even if it's moderately nice out

I've had to paddle back the entire length of the lake to the boat launch, due to power issues a few years ago. That's been figured out thank goodness since. A lot of good places for yakkers to go here. Should make for a fun tourney, good luck.

insanely overfished and tons of pleasure boaters. terrible "ramp" but that won't be a problem for kayakers.

a lot of shoreline stuff, a lot of coves, some pads, main lake brush, docks, dropoffs.

Awesome. Sounds good to me. Although I see the post from last year's tournament down a ways and it doesn't paint a pretty picture. Haha.

For what it's worth, I fished Boon this AM for 2 1/2 hours. 3 keepers, 8 dinks, 0 pickerel. Make of it what you will.
