I'd like to find one also that isn't 3k. Crazy money for a kayak when one could find a Jon boat with motor and trailer for that kind of dough.

Ya I know... its just a great kayak. I wish it wasnt that much though. Thats why im trying to see if anybody has a used one that they want to sell.

Considering they only came out a couple years ago it's going to be a pretty lucky day if you find a used one for sale. Even then, it's gonna cost you north of two grand.

Ya, I figured it couldn't hurt to try. Does anybody know any better kayaks than the pro angler?

That's an excellent question and the response is "it depends on what you mean by 'better'." A better kayak would be one the more precisely meets your fishing needs. PAs are heavy, slow, subject to wind, and expensive. They are also comfortable, stable, compact, pedal powered and excellent fishing platforms. They are more suited to big water than small water. Is there a better kayak than the PA? It depends.

I mostly go in freshwater ponds and lakes. But I also want to be able to go in the ocean. Do you have any opinions on the hobie outback.

Best thing to do is find a dealer or someone who owns one and who will let you try 'em out. I've tried just about all the Hobie models that way before buying. I listed a few dealers below. Unfortunately NESC (where I demo'd mine) is no longer a Hobie dealer. If you have no luck, let me know - maybe we can do something to give you a try on a PA12. I also have i9's on hand if you want to try one of those.

A few nearby dealers:

LITTLE HARBOR BOATHOUSE
MARBLEHEAD, MA 01945

MONAHAN'S MARINE
WEYMOUTH, MA 02188
1-781-335-2746

BENSON SKI & SPORT
DERRY, NH 03038
