Friday night my wife got me a Bass Pro Shops Mega-Cast baitcasting rod/reel combo for Father's Day - abit early

I strung it up with some 12lb test Vicious 100% flourocarbon and got to break it in this morning(Saturday):

he wasn't big, but he was fun. The other bass I caught hooked my finger with a treble and started shaking his head, ripping into my finger in the process! No stitches needed, but it hurt like a @#$%^. I also got a pickerel on a spinnerbait. The rod & reel feel really nice - soooo much lighter & much more sensitive than my old Ambassadeur 5000 & crap pole(now retired).

Sweet!
I picked up my first baitcaster combo from dick's, $50 after a $20 rebate! Its a abu garcia silver max/berkley lighting rod. So far, I love it! It took some getting use to but, now I feel like a gun slinger with it by my side! LOL!

thanks guys!

Hopefully I can get out tomorrow morning or the next day and put some more time on it... I'm real happy with the rod & reel and the Vicious flourocarbon line is quite good too. It's the first time I've used it, and it is abit more stiff feeling than mono, but not in a bad way. It's definitely more sensitive than mono - a colorado spinnerbait blade just throbs with it.
