5's are hard to come by but a 6 is a gem and anything more even greater i was so lucky to be a part of that 9.4 and thats a fish of a lifetime if you get more than that than your Bill from Bill's bait shop haha

I've gotten many nice 4+ this year but only one 5lb 9oz !!!No other 5's this year so farffffffff lol

Still searching for a 6lber

i've caught a lot of fish over 5 lbs. but only broke the 6 lb. barrier once and i'm still looking for that 7. someone made a comment about fisheries declining. yup, they absolutely are and it's unfortunate. but those big fish can still be caught at the right time with the right approach.

I'm still looking for a 8 pounder. I'm sure if I catch one someone n MAFF will catch it 4 days later.

that's been done before with a 7. just let us know where you catch that 8 so we can pound the place the next day.

To me threes and fours are real good ones. But my theory is always strive for a 5. My goal yearly is to hope a for finskie.....or better lol.

Whether it be 5,6 ,7 or 8,everyone wants that elusive 10 or more.I've seen and caught plenty of 4's,5's and 6's,even caught a couple of 7's,both in tourney's.I think the big fish range from 5 and up.Those are the ones to make the big bag and possible lunker chance.Sometimes a 4 may do it but not always.

I have no weight on the first,give me a guess,the 2nd is a 7.1.

The 7.1 hyow many years ago did you catch that?

largemouth 5 pound+, smallmouth 4 pound+

Day in and day out, even a 4lb LMB and 3LB SMB are not easy to come by.

If it's tourney fishing a 3 plus get's me feeling real good. Otherwise a 5 plus largemouth and I'm taking a few photo's and a shot of whiskey. If it's a 6 pounder than I'm on cloud nine for the week and celebrating with a half of bottle of whiskey lol! I know I've hooked fish bigger than 6 pounds but I've never got them in the boat. My goal when I start every season is to land my first 7 pound bass or better.....still waiting, I gotta get out more! Any fish that smashes the frog and takes drag gets my heart pumping like crazy!

I have yet to break 3lb this season Exclamation It's not like I am not trying. I fish at least 5 mornings a week and fish a variety of ponds. I don't care what they say, there is a certain amount of luck involved in getting a "big bass". Right place, right time, right bait and then having the skill to be able to land it. I would be very happy to catch a 4lbr right about now Exclamation Laughing

This yr has been tough. Last yr was my luckiest yr yet. While fishing for big brown or salmon hooked into a lmb that broke my line. Had it just about on shore so jumped in and scooped it onto land. Very early in season pure luck rigt place, right time my pb 7+ lber! Wasn't even fishing for bass. I feel pretty fortunate considering I'm shore bound for the most part and have caught my share of nice fish without the advantage of a boat. Real tough this time of yr consistantly finding and catching bass from shore.
