Finally got out on the ice for the first time in 2012. Joined Vinny who put in a couple hours yesterday. When he packed up yesterday he decided to leave 2 traps set overnight. So we got there about 8am, snow was starting to stick. Right away we noticed both traps are tripped, sweet! Vin pulls the 1st one, and what do you know, Fish On! nice 20in Pickerel. So I pulled the 2nd trap, and no s***, Fish On! A 2ft Eel...Yuck! But its a fish, and my 1st Eel ever. After that we set-up the traps, bites started fast, but slowed by the time we packed it in at 12:30pm. Snow just wasnt fun today. Vin's other fish were 2 Largemouth(1lber, and a 2lber) on traps, Perch, and Pickerel jigging, and unfortunately missed about 4lb Largemouth at the hole that the hook popped out. My others were a chunky Perch, and 1-1/4lb Largemouth
The ranking score is used to determine how "popular" a trip or location is. It is calculated based off of a weighted average of the number of reviews and the user ratings. For example, a trip with 2 reviews and an average rating of 5 will have a lower "ranking score" than one with 10 reviews and an average rating of 4. This is because even though the first trip has a better average rating, it has not been reviewed as much as the second trip, so it is not as "popular". In the future we may modify the ranking score to take in additional factors, such as the number of views, comments, and photos.
