I remember years ago there was an article in the paper about some odd type of fish being caught in Lower Porter. I don't recall what it was though, maybe a snakehead.
That would probably be a Bowfin. there is a spot next to the Fuller Museum parking lot that seems to be a good spot to catch them. I have never caught one but its on my bucket list. They were made a sportfish in 2015 but not a lot of people target them.
