Second one wasn't weighed but wasn23+ inches and I'm confident it was 7 1/2 pounds. Waas caught in a bog pond.

I did not have a scale with me at the time, But this guy was a lunker! I would say close to 5lbs about 4.8 or 4.9! I know it does not meet the guidelines for this page, but I believe this will be a helpful post to people fishing the Lake Cochituate Area. I caught him off a 7in Powerworm, Color was camo and I used a 3/8ths Oz bullet weight with it. Caught it right on the fall after the cast in about 6 ft of water. This was caught along the East side of the south pond, I actually took a brief break from fishing off my jon boat and jumped on a dock, then I caught him, I almost lost hum because my line got wrapped around a part of the dock! this is the best bet for lunkers in lake cochituate, Good Luck!

With all the talk about 5+ pounders, I got motivated to go out and catch one! I don't know if 5 pound + bass are rare or not but they're rare for me! Caught in a small metro west pond today on a soft plastic stickbait.
