Here's an very inexpensive way to balance those long tip heavy rods. Works great on flipping and punching sticks so you can use a lighter reel once the rod is balanced.
1 inch furniture leg end caps found at Home Depot. They run under $3.00 for a package of four. They fit very snug at the butt end of a rod. Use quarters to add weight until the rod is balanced to your liking.

I was looking for a rod balance kit and had a difficult time locating one. They were either out of stock or they need to screw into the butt end of the rod.
