Finally got the repaired prop back for Vinny's boat. So we put that back together, and things look good expect the big piece of skeg missing, ouch. Decided to try Sluice because it was close. Initial thoughts, Steep Ramp that drops off unevenly but managable, Not much parking. Being 50 acres it a pretty small place, but its got some real deep spots 50ft-60ft. Nice day, fought the wind most of the time. Some areas were better protected than others. Lots of floating docks, some laydowns, sporadic vegatation. Water temp was 80-81 degrees, water clarity wasnt the best, but better than we expected. Tried to find a few different patterns, got a few off docks on senkos. Nothing on the shakeyhead, or poppers. Vinny got a few suspended fish on shallow cranks. But the main pattern seemed to be the areas that had overhanging brush, the Bass were holding tight to, Shaded areas produced better than sunny areas. Fishing back through the boat ramp area Vinny had ten Bass in the 10"-12" on the night already, and I had six Bass with two 1lbers mixed in, I tossed my jig to some over hanging brush, and THUMP, Fish on! Vin gets it in the net. Pictures, and than weigh this nice 4lb Sluice Largemouth, thank you! While I was getting the truck Vinny catches two more bass in a couple minutes. Lots of cookie cutter fish, but it was nice to see the fatty at the end of the night. Interesting place, Im sure we'll will try it again at some point.
Nice catch though. I seen picture of a 5lber pulled out of there a week ago too. There alot of trout and bait fish in there, so there has to be a decent amount of Walters in there. I had a fish run and snap off on me last year on a senko.
@ Meatballs - that is stuff you can add when creating a trip. I in the "help" section there should be a piece on the creating trips and everything that you can add to them.
Nice fish bro, also great news about getting your boat back, how did you add all that info in your fishing trip? like size and # of fish caught? Nice job, I HATE that place....LOL
The ranking score is used to determine how "popular" a trip or location is. It is calculated based off of a weighted average of the number of reviews and the user ratings. For example, a trip with 2 reviews and an average rating of 5 will have a lower "ranking score" than one with 10 reviews and an average rating of 4. This is because even though the first trip has a better average rating, it has not been reviewed as much as the second trip, so it is not as "popular". In the future we may modify the ranking score to take in additional factors, such as the number of views, comments, and photos.
